What are protein balls? 💪
Protein balls are ball-shaped snacks made using protein powder as well other whole food ingredients such as fruit, nuts and seeds. They're a great alternative to store-bought protein bars which can be full of hidden nasties such as sugar, sweeteners and artificial ingredients.
Making your own protein balls means you can know exactly what is in them and be confident that they are plant-based, gluten-free and 100% natural 🌱
Is coconut oil healthy? 🥥
Coconut oil, like any oil, is a fat - which gives it a bad reputation is some circles. But fat is an essential nutrient and choosing the right source of fats can help to optimise your health, not sabotage it!
The types of fats found in coconuts are mainly Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), which are metabolised quickly and are less likely to be stored in the body. They provide an efficient source of energy as well as many other essential nutrients.
Enjoyed in moderation, coconut oil is a welcome addition to any healthy lifestyle!
